PARTY CHARTER
PREAMBLE
Evergreens is a political peace and ecological project founded upon the principle that democratic government must serve people while protecting the natural systems upon which present and future generations depend.
Evergreens seeks an honest and transparent democracy in which public trust is earned through accountability, equality, evidence-led policy and meaningful participations, the political programme places nature at the centre of long-term decision-making and seeks peaceful, sustainable and democratic solutions to social, economic and environmental challenges.
THE PARTY
The party is titled Evergreens also presented in Irish as Síorghlasa found by Lea Sultan Celik Sommerseth Shaw ISIK for her kid Westminster pupil William Nuh 'The Scout' and for all other kids and for future generations without racism fascism and wars, and a society that is run by true honest governance with peace and environmental awareness committed to people, planet, peace and responsible government.
PURPOSE
The purposes of Evergreens are to promote:
Peace — advancing peaceful political solutions and opposing unnecessary war and destruction.
People — protecting human dignity, equality, democratic participation and the interests of future generations.
Planet — protecting ecosystems, biodiversity, climate stability and natural resources.
Democracy — strengthening transparent, accountable and genuinely participatory democratic institutions.
Sustainability — ensuring that economic and legislative decisions consider their consequences across generations.
FUNDAMENTAL PRINCIPLES
Evergreens shall conduct its political activities according to the principles of: Honest Democracy. Political institutions should operate openly and truthfully.
Equality. Political participation and public institutions should respect equal dignity and opportunity.
Transparency. Decisions, proposals and political processes should be capable of public scrutiny. Evidence-led Government. Legislative proposals should be informed by research, documented evidence and public consultation.
Ecological Responsibility. Environmental consequences should form an integral part of economic and political decision-making. Peaceful Government. Diplomacy, dialogue and peaceful conflict resolution should remain fundamental instruments of public policy. Intergenerational Responsibility. Government has obligations not only to today's electorate but also to future generations.
SUSTAINABLE POLICY
Evergreens shall promote legislative frameworks capable of addressing environmental and social questions over decades rather than individual electoral cycles.
Environmental accounting, infrastructure planning and resource management should recognise long-term ecological consequences.
SUSTAINABLE ECONOMY
Evergreens supports an economy in which prosperity and ecological responsibility reinforce rather than undermine one another.Fiscal and economic policy should recognise environmental costs, responsible resource stewardship, sustainable enterprise, innovation and the long-term interests of communities.
The party shall encourage economic policies capable of creating prosperity without transferring unacceptable environmental costs to future generations. This follows the site's stated principle of integrating ecological costs and long-term resource stewardship into fiscal policy.
SUSTAINABLE DEMOCRACY
Evergreens shall advocate accessible democratic institutions and meaningful public participation. Citizens should have opportunities to examine, discuss and respond to important legislative proposals.
The party shall therefore encourage: public consultation; transparent legislative proposals; publication of supporting evidence; accessible political information; democratic accountability; and opportunities for citizen feedback.
PEACE
Peace shall constitute a central political principle of Evergreens. The party shall promote diplomacy, international cooperation, peaceful conflict resolution, humanitarian protection and prevention of armed conflict.
Evergreens recognises that warfare can produce consequences extending far beyond immediate human casualties, including displacement, destruction of ecosystems and infrastructure, contamination, economic instability and intergenerational harm.
NUCLEAR DETERRENCE AND ECOLOGICAL STEWARDSHIP
Evergreens shall encourage democratic examination of nuclear deterrence through the combined perspectives of peace, security, humanitarian responsibility and long-term ecological stewardship.
Policies concerning nuclear weapons must recognise their potentially exceptional human and environmental consequences.
LEGISLATIVE CLARITY
Evergreens shall seek to make its legislative proposals understandable, documented and open to scrutiny. Major proposals should, wherever practicable, identify:
the problem being addressed; available evidence; proposed legislative solution; anticipated financial implications; environmental consequences; expected social consequences; implementation framework; and mechanisms for measuring results.
CONSTITUTIONAL RIGOR
Evergreens recognises constitutional government, democratic institutions and the rule of law as essential foundations of legitimate political authority. Political reform should therefore be pursued through lawful, democratic and transparent processes. No political objective shall justify abandoning democratic accountability or fundamental rights.
TRANSPARENT METRICS
Evergreens shall seek measurable standards against which political commitments and legislative initiatives can be evaluated.
Where appropriate, policies should establish publicly understandable objectives and methods for assessing their environmental, social, democratic and economic effects.
MEMBERSHIP
Membership should be open to persons who support the democratic purposes and principles of Evergreens, subject to applicable electoral law and the party's membership rules.
Members shall be expected to respect peaceful democratic participation, equality, lawful political activity and the integrity of the party's constitutional processes.
PARTY GOVERNANCE
Evergreens shall maintain democratic internal governance appropriate to its size and legal status. The party should establish clearly defined responsibilities for its leadership, treasury, administration, membership and candidate-selection processes. Financial decisions and political responsibilities shall be subject to appropriate internal accountability.
PUBLIC ACCOUNTABILITY
Evergreens shall endeavour to distinguish clearly between:
policy under consideration;
draft legislative proposals;
formally established party policy; and
election commitments.
FUTURE GENERATIONS
Evergreens recognises future generations as stakeholders in today's political decisions.
Environmental degradation, unsustainable public finances, destructive warfare and depletion of natural resources can impose burdens on people who have no opportunity to participate in present political decisions.
Long-term responsibility shall therefore remain a fundamental consideration in Evergreens policymaking.
AMENDMENT OF THE CHARTER
This Charter may be amended according to democratic procedures established by the party constitution. Amendments shall remain consistent with the fundamental commitments of Evergreens to peace, democracy, equality, transparency, ecological stewardship and constitutional government.
